How to choose a secure cable

1. Selection of wire and cable models
(1) When selecting wires and cables, consider the use, laying conditions and safety;
(2) According to different uses: power cables, overhead insulated cables, control cables, etc. can be selected;
(3) According to different laying conditions: general plastic insulated cable, steel strip armored cable, steel wire armored cable, anti-corrosion cable, etc. can be selected;
(4) According to safety requirements: flame retardant cables, low-smoke halogen-free cables, fire-resistant cables, etc. can be selected.
2. Selection of wire and cable specifications
(1) When determining the use specifications (conductor section) of wires and cables, heat generation, voltage loss, economic current density, mechanical strength and other conditions should be considered;
(2) Because the low-voltage power line has a large load current, it generally selects the section according to the heating conditions first, and then calculates its voltage loss and mechanical strength;
(3) Because of its high requirements for voltage level, low-voltage lighting lines can first select the cross-section according to the allowable voltage loss conditions, and then verify the heating conditions and mechanical strength;
(4) For high-voltage lines, the cross-section is selected according to the economic current density, and then its heating conditions and allowable voltage loss are calculated.
The cable is usually a rope-like cable formed by twisting several or groups of wires [at least two in each group], each group of wires is insulated from each other, and often twisted around a center, and the entire outer bread has a highly insulating covering. Many are installed in the air or underground or underwater for telecommunications or power transmission.
